However, we must look at the $50 billion financing initiative with a sober eye. While the order books were oversubscribed, Oracle is essentially doubling down on a high-leverage bet that AI demand will remain insatiable for years. Our perspective is that Oracle is currently "demand-constrained" rather than "market-constrained." The company has more customers than it has racks. The moment that flip-flops, the debt service on $50 billion will look much heavier.
The 15% stake in TikTok US is another fascinating, albeit non-core, development. By securing a board seat and an equity stake, Oracle has tied itself to one of the most valuable data pipes in the world. This serves a dual purpose: it secures a massive, long-term OCI customer and provides a lucrative non-operating income stream that will likely pad the bottom line in future quarters when organic growth eventually moderates.
The competitive wins against Workday and SAP in this quarter were notable for their scale. Oracle is successfully pitching a "full-stack" advantage. Because it owns the database, the infrastructure, and the application, it can offer a lower total cost of ownership. The company is using OCI as a "budget creator" for customers, essentially telling CIOs to move their infrastructure to Oracle to save money, then use those savings to fund their AI transformation.
