Enterprises have become much better at protecting recovery data than proving they can recover it. Backup, immutable storage, cyber vaults, and air-gapped architectures all improve the likelihood that recovery data will be available. Demonstrating that applications, infrastructure, and operational procedures can be restored under real-world conditions requires a separate discipline.

HyperFRAME Research Lens: State of Enterprise Infrastructure & Operations (1H 2026) found that while 91% of organizations identify cyber resilience as important, only 30% report being very confident in their recovery speed following a cyberattack or cloud-based data loss event. The gap between investment and confidence suggests that many enterprises have strengthened data protection while continuing to struggle with recovery validation.

Recovery validation requires infrastructure, time, and skilled personnel. Temporary environments must be provisioned, application dependencies recreated, and procedures coordinated across multiple teams. As a result, many enterprises perform validation exercises less frequently than their RPOs and RTOs require.

It provides immutable offsite storage without requiring organizations to manage their own cloud infrastructure or cyber recovery environment.

Cloud Clean Room extends the recovery workflow beyond data protection by providing an isolated environment where organizations can validate recovery before an incident occurs. Built on FalconStor's patent-pending Zero Trust Secure Enclave technology, Cloud Clean Room provisions IBM Power logical partitions (LPARs) on demand within IBM Cloud PowerVS environments. Tests execute inside isolated, known-clean environments that are decommissioned after each exercise, eliminating the need for customer-maintained clean room infrastructure and reducing environmental drift. Each validation exercise produces documented evidence that supports governance, regulatory, and audit requirements. FalconStor manages infrastructure provisioning within the secure enclave, allowing customers to perform testing without IBM Cloud expertise.

Available today, Habanero and Cloud Clean Room together create a complete validation workflow. Cloud Clean Room complements Habanero by helping organizations verify that protected data can be recovered successfully through repeatable exercises performed on demand.

FalconStor also positions Cloud Clean Room as infrastructure that extends beyond Habanero. The Habanero integration is the first commercial implementation, but the underlying platform is available for licensing by ISVs and managed service providers that want to build their own offerings. This strategy enables partners to build managed services without developing the underlying orchestration and secure enclave and test infrastructure themselves.
